From Illustration C you can clearly see that magnetic lines of "flux" which emit from any magnet, come off of the magnet and "seek" the other side of the magnet. If the magnetic spacing is as depicted in Illustration B, the north and south poles will meet between each magnet. This results in a magnetic energy that is less than half as effective, and that also allows the south pole to wrap around and enter your body, which all research has proven can be harmful with continued exposure.

In a mattress pad, if the magnets are properly spaced, the bio north (-) and south (+) poles will meet off of the edge of the mattress pad, as shown in Illustration D. This creates a 100% true north pole field of approximately 6 gauss to the center of your body in the Lyon Legacy Gold Series Pads and about 4 Gauss in the Silver Series.

Residual magnetism (emitting from a magnetic field as opposed to the surface magnetic readings) should be between 4-6 gauss throughout your body for optimum health.
